Gabris Landscaping emerged from tragedy in January 2007, when a devastating ice storm left Springfield, Missouri buried under fallen trees and debris. Brothers Jeff and Jeremy Gabris, both Missouri State University students, saw opportunity in the aftermath. With Jeremy completing his final semester in real estate and finance, and Jeff beginning his entrepreneurship degree, they seized the moment when MSU canceled classes for a week. The brothers purchased a trailer, hitched it to a Ford Explorer, and launched their business by clearing tree debris for neighbors and friends throughout the storm-ravaged city.
Humble Beginnings and Growth
As spring arrived, demand for debris removal dwindled, prompting the brothers to pivot to lawn care services. When Jeremy graduated and accepted a job offer, Jeff assumed full control of the operation. By year’s end, Jeff had purchased his brother’s stake, becoming sole owner of Gabris Landscaping. The following years tested Jeff’s resolve as he navigated the economic recession while juggling full-time studies and business operations. This demanding balance of academic pursuits and entrepreneurial responsibilities forged the foundation of today’s established company.
